Captured on a chilly, foggy fall morning at Glassmine Falls, this tree stretches from the depths of the forest floor toward the sky. Its bare branches are like a contorted skeletal frame engulfed in darkness, searching for a glimmer of light. This tree is a crown of the season, and during the autumn months, Death is king. This photograph is inspired by my love for dark, atmospheric films that draw the viewer into its setting and holds their attention hostage. This photo was entirely produced in the Asheville area, from initial capture to the custom framing.
